New singers welcome!

David Battersby
We are a choir based in the South Lakes area of Cumbria.  We range in age from sixteen to ninety-three – and are some of the nicest, most friendly folk you could meet – as well as musically able and talented of course!
We typically rehearse weekly from September to late May or early June, with a break after the Christmas concert, and a short break over Easter.
Rehearsals take place in Staveley Village Institute on Monday evenings, 7.00-9.00pm.  No audition is required.  The ability to read music is not essential, though it is very useful!  If you are interested in learning, we can help.

About our Choral Society

Wendy Randall is our current Musical Director, and David Battersby our Pianist.

Wendy’s background is in Art, Music and Education, so she is well qualified to teach music to all ages and  put together diverse and interesting concerts.

David has more letters after his name than some alphabets, having studied in London with illustrious musicians such as Martino Tirimo.  He rises to every challenge with ease and cheerfulness, accompanying sensitively, and performing as soloist with panache and élan.  We love him!
